There are many different types of top coats available to use on nails, but getting the right one to use depends on what you need it for.
UV Top Coat is a top coat that can be used on all applications – acrylic, gel, nail polish. It has a slight purple tinge and this to help prevent yellowing caused by the sun on acrylic and gel applications.
Fast Dry Top Coat is what is says, it dries quickly but it will not dry the polish underneath anymore quickly than it would dry normally. It is perfect for nail polish that needs to be touch dry, but you still have to take care not to knock it for a couple of hours so not to dent the polish underneath. This top coat is not suitable for nail art applications because it will remove colour from your nail art and acrylic paint on the nail.
Airbrush Top Coat is a gently top coat used over airbrushing. Airbrushing is done with acrylic airbrush paints and this top coat will not pull at the finished art work. Other top coats that contain different chemicals will strip the acrylic paint off the nail.
Nail Art Top Coat is very close to airbrush top coat. It is gentle and perfect for all types of nail art where coloured products have been used and other top coats can strip the colour away. We use this for our micro bead nail art work. Applied gently over the beads it will not strip the colour whereas a UV top coat or glass seal top coat will strip the colour.
Glass Seal Top Coat is a thick top coat and if your nail art is not colour fast this top coat will give a fantastic seal. It is durable and chip resistant.
Matte Top Coat is a top coat that turns any nail polish into a matte finish (we have this coming into stock again soon).
It is always good to have a selection of different top coats available that way you are never caught short on being able to seal and finish your nails whether you are sealing acrylic, gel or nail art.
