Problems with Nails

Ever wondered why when someone, especially a female, goes into hospital and you are told beforehand not to wear nail polish, the reason is because nails tell alot about a person's health.

Why are my nails yellow:

This can be caused by nail polish staining your nails, smoking, household cleaners amongst other things. Try using a Yellow Out polish, wearing glove and giving your nails a very light buff over the surface.

My nails keep breaking:

This can be caused by any number of things and you will need to find out what is causing your nails to break by a process of elimination, but here are some areas to start looking at:

1. a mineral deficiency
2. bad filing technique - remember not backwards and forwards, one way only.
3. hereditary
4. household chemicals and not wearing gloves

My nails split and peel

This can be caused by a mineral, vitamin or calcium deficiency in your diet, household cleaners and lack of care through not using hand and nail creams. If your nails are developing cracks it may mean that you need to drink more water.

My Cuticles keep splitting

This can be painful, always have a pair of cuticle nippers on hand to nip off the offending piece of cuticle to prevent it getting caught on something and ripping further causing you more pain, again nail and cuticle oils or cream used on a regular basis will help prevent this as well as using gloves when cleaning with cleaners.

I have whitespots on my nails

These appear when your diet is lacking either or all of these elements. calcium, zince or iron. Add these to your diet.
